editorial packages for playwrights & novelists

my editorial style.

My editorial style is direct, encouraging, and — most importantly — honest. I understand that the best work happens when writers feel safe and supported, and I strive to create a brave space for my fellow artists to explore the breadth of the worlds they are creating.

I can’t tell you how to write your story, but I can show you how other people have written theirs, and I can assist you in honing your process and finding your voice. You have a story to tell: let me help you tell it.

“Jenny is an award-winning playwright, novelist and poet who generously and skillfully shares the bounty of her talent and insights with her clients and students. She wants us to succeed and is fully dedicated to our process. Unlike many writing teachers, her students aren’t an afterthought.”

— Patricia Kurtz, Fiction Client and Playwriting Student

As of 2023, I am not offering this service to new clients. For manuscripts that have already undergone substantive editing, this is a final polish to ensure that there are no typos or other grammatical errors in the manuscript. I will need to review the first few pages of the manuscript before I can provide rates, so please get in touch if you are interested in this service.

This package includes 2 rounds of edits on your query letter, assistance crafting your synopsis, and an edit of the first 10 pages of your novel. This package also includes assistance in creating your list of agents to query, and a game plan for the first batch of queries you send out.
